Advanced Tactical Medical Course

The course is designed to present each student with concepts & applications, not cookbook 'monkey medicine.1 We ask each student to come with an open mind and a willingness to work as a team with other students. You will be challenged and you will leave knowing more than you entered with!

Intended for tactical medical providers that already understand the basic concepts of law-enforcement support and tactical medicine, this program will stress both increasing your knowledge base as well as the practical application of your knowledge, skills, and experiences. Upon completion of the program the program the student will be able to apply the concepts learned into their role as a well qualified Medical Support Specialist with your individual team.

Topics covered in this program include:

  • A Review of 5 B's Concept Organ review practical
  • The latest field cardiology concepts & applications The latest field respiratory medicine concepts & applications Eye anatomy, eye injuries New patient movement devices Equipment choices/packaging for austere environment Orthopedic injuries & splinting practical Dislocation reduction practical Field Pharmacology update & news Field antibiotic recommendations OTC medications
  • Fluid resuscitation & shock management update Blast injuries and the latest in management options Wound care
  • Sick call and primary care needs of the team And of course an extensive line-up of day & night exercises, with no-notice call outs, threats, and surprises...

The following will be needed equipment for each student to provide - this is an ALL WEATHER program - prepare accordingly!

At a minimum, bring:

  • Tactical BDU uniform
  • Woodland camo
  • Black / or unit color
  • Body armor
  • Helmet
  • Load bearing vest
  • Foul weather gear
  • Medical pack
  • Gloves
  • Eye protection
  • Knee pads
  • Light sources
  • Chem lights
  • Red/Blue guns of the type you deploy with - please cover these with
  • Spandoflage or camo tape
  • What you need for overnight deployment
  • Sleeping bag & pillow, towel, washcloth
  • ALL firearms will be secured in your personal vehicles and will not enter
  • the training site at any time. No alcohol is allowed at this training site.
