Operational Medical Skills (OMS)

Providing tactical medicine in hostile environments and combat situations is some of the most challenging work TEMS & special operations personnel can face. Personal and team safety issues, mission requirements, and severe limitations of equipment and resources compound the difficulty of providing care.

Using the best of both low tech and high tech methods, we offer your personnel and agencies tactical emergency medical service training for line and contract personnel prior to deployment overseas, advanced methodology classes for your medics custom designed for your needs, and Tactical EMS cross-over certification for civilian law enforcement EMS providers operating in the context of care in the United States.

The Operational Medical Skills (OMS) programs emphasizes expedient management of life, limb, sight, and health threatening injuries and illnesses, as well as stabilization of common medical, dental, and more routine problems with the intention of keeping the patient operational and avoiding incapacity/ evacuation. Understanding of physical/mental stress, normal stress responses and loss of decision making/physical skills, and immediate stress management techniques are included, a critical area often overlooked in operational training.
